Hi all, been a while since i last posted anything.I last visited Sania in sept 09 on my own, but hopefully me and Linda will try and visit Sania in a couple of weeks time. I managed to get a direct flight from stansted to Tangier last time (still a bit of a toil as we live in Gtr Manchester) struggling this time! lookin at flying to Malaga and getting ferry over.Anybody with any news on other options please let me know.Met some really nice and helpfull people on my last visit.Nik hope you have sorted your snagging out (-: and replaced the H with an N made me laugh!Hope to finally have apartment finished so we can return later in the year with the kids(well they was kids when this build started but are now teens!).Hope to meet some more people in a couple of weeks and we can start enjoying Sania and build up a friendly community AT LAST. Bye for now, stay safe and sane (-; Billy & Linda.
We are flying the Malaga route from Liverpool. From Manchester you have Monarch flying to Gibraltar which would be better for you - only short trip to ferry terminal then. I find the connections for indirect flights going out to Tangier are not so good with many hours/overnight required. However coming back they are much better, last time, I flew ryanair from Tangier to Madrid and Easyjet from Madrid to Liverpool, just 2 hours connection in Madrid and the timing was just right as I was able to have lunch at the airport.
Hi Billy & Linda Good to hear from you snd I hope you have good visit to Sania. I My dodgy spelling seems to have brought a smile. Hvae a great visit, I am going out there first week in May, so looking forward to seeing the apartment as I have been told most of the snagging was finished.
Like you and other, I am hoping to finally enjoy Sania and meet other owners and all the owners that I ahve met during the year, as I beleive we have gensis of brillaint community at Sania.
In terms of flights to Sania, Paul suggestions is the best one available but incase they do not work out then there are 2 possible other options that you may wish to consider, these are:
1) If you fly to Malaga, then a Clarissa Gosling in the past has hired a car from transauto, which allow you drive it Morocco. Aparently Transauto will deleiver the car to Malage Airport and you can drop it off. I have not used this route so I can't speak from experience nor tell you the cost. The hire car company details are www.transauto.es or 009434952105105. Their email address is info@transauto.es. In terms of ferry details you may wish you checkout www.directferries.co.uk/algecrias
2) Another option is to fly Paris CDG from Liverpool with easyjet and then get a connecting flight with Easyjet to Tangiers. The best day for this journey would be Saturady as Flight leeave Liverpool at 7 and gets to Paris 9.25. The flight to Tangiers leaves Paris at 11.40 - so you would have a 2 hours between the 2 flights.
Cheers Nik, good to hear from you(will give you a ring sometime this week if you dont mind!) i think i still have your mobile no from sept 09 visit. Thanks again. Billy & Linda

Hi I am going out to Sania on Tuesday (will get Tangiers Midnight)so if anyone is out there next week, then please give me a knock N16 for coffee and hello.
Added a photo above of a deserted Marjane at 8pm in the evening. It was just opening up again after the the evening break for ramadan. Note shutters are down on the beer section....grrrr
Surprised that myself and Frank seemed to be the only 'brits' there. Is anyone using their apartments this summer?
Will be at SP between 29 Sept and 2 Oct. If anyone else is out there get in touch, would be good to say hello! I am in D6 frontline. Frank +44 (0)7595 59 89 79
Will be at Sania Plage between 14th & 28th January. If anyone happens to be 'out there' it would be good to meet up (perhaps a game of tennis?) I'm in D6 (front)
Hi We have recently been out to complete on our apartment I10. We were introduced to Hatim via e-mail a few months ago and he has been extremely helpful. We were amazed at the amount of development which has taken place in the area since our initial visit in 2007 and were very impressed with the complex, despite there still being several issues which need addressing.
One major problem we encountered when we walked into our block is that we were greeted with a strange overpowering smell and upon investigation discovered that the management are storing grass cuttings and garden waste in the empty underground garages! With the assistance of Hatim we explained to the management that it was not an acceptable place to store this waste as it causes many problems for the present and the future. Hatim has assured us he will ensure the problem is resolved, but it would be a good idea for anyone visiting to check it has been moved and a report on the blog would be extremely useful.
There was a syndicate meeting in July. I will post the notes Hatim sent us in case anyone has not received them.
We plan to visit again later in the year and would be really pleased to meet up with anyone is they are around.
Dear All Sania Plagers Me and Jules are going ot be in Sania from 12th Spet for 10 days; so if anyone else is out there at the same time, please give us knock for coffee
Hi Nik, Will just miss you again. Here at the moment, weather is fantastic, complex is looking good and its really busy still....couldnt get into Chicos last night!! All the Best Paul
Hi All Just a quick note to say that we will be in Sania between 13th April and 28th April, so if anyone is there at the same time then please feel to drop into N16 for coffee
Hi All We are currently in Sania and weather is warm during the days even had a couple of sunny days, so topping up the tan. Sania looks well kept but recent rains have filled up garages and hotel titanic lake but not as previous years. More apartments seem to have been sold as a number of them are hvaing work done to them e.g. in 2nd line N block (which is my block) only 3 apartemnts seem to be empty.
The pools will be filled in May.
If anyone is planning to over in Sania this week or next week then please give me and Jules for coffee.
Good to hear more apartments are being sold. We stayed in your apartment last July when we went out to complete and thought it was beautifully decorated. We have purchased I10 and were hoping to go out March, but due to unexpected problems, we are now planning early July - beginning of Ramadam.
Shame there is no progress on the hotel.
If you get a chance while you are out there, would you kindly check the underground garages under I block to see if the grass and shrubbery cuttings have been removed. Hatim was trying to sort it out with management, but they were not particularly helpful. Problem is, it creates a really nasty smell in the stairwell.
Hopefully we will meet up with you at sometime in the future.
Just seen your post, Thank you for the compilment,so pleased you liked it. We had a fantastic two weeks and was lovely and quiet, apart from the frogs at night...lol They had started pumping out the Hotel Titanic again so will be interesting to see whats happened next time we go. Hopefully we will be over early next year... I have made a Facebook page for people to post their own pics and comments,I would love people to look it up and add their suff Look forwrd to catching up :) https://www.facebook.com/groups/562658520452160/#
Just seen your reply. We have now made arrangements to visit and actually stay for the first time in our apartment from 18th July to 3rd August. We have stayed at the height of the season and are curious to know what is available during Ramadam. We also plan to go out next year, so perhaps our paths will cross.
Will check out the hotel while we are there and report back.
Have been told by Hatim that the grass and shrubbery has been removed - thank goodness.
Will check out the Facebook page - sounds a great idea.
Sorry this posting has only gone up, it was hiding in the awaiting moderation pile, and I somehow overlooked it.
I was there in early April - and it was incredibly quiet over there. I think because of the not great weather forecasts .....a lot of people didnt bother coming over for easter...even the Spanish folk didn't get there.
Anyway it was much warmer than the UK - I went on the bus to M'Diq in T shirt and shorts and sandals as it was over 20 degrees.....the locals were all wearing big coats and jumpers..
We would appreciate 20 degrees now!! Thats not bad for April these days. Trust you had a good time. You seem to get over there quite a lot - lucky you. Hopefully we will meet up one of these days.
We will be there on 21st June and well into August (no return date planned yet!) So, as usual, if anyone want's to meet for a beer, coffee, tea (mint of course) or maybe even fancy a game of tennis let's get together. We have 3 boys (aged 12, 14 & 16, so if anyone else have children of similar ages perhaps they might wish to get to know each other?
We are at D6 (front)

We are arriving 16th July and staying until 3rd August. First stay in our own apartment - I10 second line. We do not have any children, but would certainly like to meet up for a coffee and chat. We have not got mobile/landline organised yet, so cannot give you contact number.
We have been over for 10 days and the weather was really good. The complex is looking fine and both pools were being looked at but we could not swim in them as the chlorine monitors were caput and were being replaced!! The hotel lake was being pumped out and a lot of work was going on during the time we were there (levelling and tidying up) but we were advised that the local mayor did visit during this time and strangely enough this is when the work was being done in ernest. I did make a comment to the syndique that the pools should not be available only for the months of July and August as visitors expect to be able to swim during May June, Sepetember October. I was told that they are expensive to run however surely one pool could be kept in operation during the quieter times. I will be sending this request to the syndique meeting in July as that is what we are paying our community fees for!! The syndique office also stated that at the July meeting a discussion will take place for the painting of the complex next year but that more monies would be needed to do this, I am not sure how this will be divided up as we all know that there are a number of empty apts, some really big apts, so it will be interesting to see what is asked for in monetary terms.
We shall be visitng in a few weeks time. Quite agree there should be at least one pool available until September, despite the cost, as quite rightly, this is one of the things we pay for and will definitely want the use of a pool while out there and that will not generally be the height of the season. We will definitely back you on that, as I am sure many others will.
Would have thought that whilst there are still so many empty apartments and, believe none of the shops have actually been sold yet, it would not be cost effective to paint yet. Again, do not think a good idea and will pass our views to Hatim on both these points for the syndique meeting.
Can anyone recommend a good car hire company apart from Steve Shaw whose link does not appear to be working. Hatim informed us we have to be careful as we could well end up renting a bad condition car.
Was concerned to read the following comment on the blog made by Pat and Steve N2 who were out there in June.
"I did make a comment to the syndique that the pools should not be available only for the months of July and August as visitors expect to be able to swim during May June, Sepetember October. I was told that they are expensive to run however surely one pool could be kept in operation during the quieter times. I will be sending this request to the syndique meeting in July as that is what we are paying our community fees for!!"
We have commented to Hatim that we feel the same and he will take it up at the syndique meeting in July. However, we notice that when Paul was out there in October 2010 the pools were filled.
Hatim will report back to us. Would suggest that anyone who feels the same should let the syndique know. We have just been advised that a potential rental we had for October, will book elsewhere if there is no pool.
Regarding Car Rental - I use the company that Steve Shaw used to use, and the cars have always been great. I often get a brand new car, or one that is virtually new. They are very helpful and I have been met in Tangier at the Airport, train station, and ferry terminal in the past with the car. They will also collect it from same. Once they met me from the Marrakesh express at Tangier train station about 6.30 in the morning! Very often I get them to drop it off at the apartment - they come from Tangier and charge 100Dh for this service which is reasonable. I have often had them collect from my apartment and drop us all of at the Ceuta border at the end of our stay. Speak with Mustafa on +212 661 169748
Regarding the pool - I also think it is important that they keep at least one pool open ideally from April through to October - they need to encourage people to use the complex out of high season not deter them. Unfortunately this may be the minority opinion given that a lot of the apartments are holiday homes which seem to only be used in the summer.
Hi All We will be going to Sania on 30th April until 11 May, do if anyone else is over there at the same time then please feel to knock on our door for a drink. Really looking forward to going back over as it has way too long
We are visiting March 8th to 18th. Really looking forward to it as we were unable to get out there last year. If anyone will be there, we would love to meet up. Our apartment is I10. Steve and Jan
Found complex looking really good. Couple more restaurants at the marina and a new Beach bar being developed. Both pools look clean. The old hotel site has been fenced off and looks much better from sania now. Work still looks very slow though. Was sad to learn several English have sold their apartments.wondering how many left here now. We are here until 5 July and then I return 22 to 29 July with my daughter and grand children. Our Moroccan mobile is 0623266048. I10 second row. Would be pleased to meet visitors.
The development is looking great. Both pools are up and running. Steve and I are here until 5 July and I am back with my daughter and grandchildren aged 15 and 17 from 22 to 29 July. If anyone wants to meet up our mobile number is 0623266048. We are second line I10.
The complex is looking really good. Cafe and supermarket will now be open for summer months. Very quiet here as moment as it is Ramadan. I will be here again from 22-29 July and will report back. Jan and Steve I10.
At SP at the moment.....all looking good at the complex and noticeable improvements from last summer.....more to follow when I know for sure this posting process is working!

Sorry mean 18th July late evening.
DeleteHi to everyone
ReplyDeleteWe have been over for 10 days and the weather was really good.

Hi Pat and Steve
DeleteWe shall be visitng in a few weeks time.

I10 second line
Can anyone recommend a good car hire company apart from Steve Shaw whose link does not appear to be working. Hatim informed us we have to be careful as we could well end up renting a bad condition car.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Was concerned to read the following comment on the blog made by Pat and Steve N2 who were out there in June.

Hi Steve and Jan,
ReplyDeleteRegarding Car Rental - I use the company that Steve Shaw used to use, and the cars have always been great.

Regarding the pool - I also think it is important that they keep at least one pool open ideally from April through to October - they need to encourage people to use the complex out of high season not deter them.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately this may be the minority opinion given that a lot of the apartments are holiday homes which seem to only be used in the summer.
Thanks Paul, just checking the blog before we leave. Hatim has organised a car for us now to meet us at Tangier airport.
ReplyDeleteWill get an update on the pool situation when we see him and report back to the blog with any other issues arising.
Hi i will be here till 3rd September, 0613638567 if anyone else here and wants to meet.

Hi both
ReplyDeleteHow did the development look when you were there. Do you have any news regarding the development, the syndique etc etc
Steve
Found complex looking really good. Couple more restaurants at the marina and a new Beach bar being developed. Both pools look clean. The old hotel site has been fenced off and looks much better from sania now. Work still looks very slow though. Was sad to learn several English have sold their apartments.wondering how many left here now. We are here until 5 July and then I return 22 to 29 July with my daughter and grand children. Our Moroccan mobile is 0623266048. I10 second row. Would be pleased to meet visitors.
DeleteThe development is looking great. Both pools are up and running. Steve and I are here until 5 July and I am back with my daughter and grandchildren aged 15 and 17 from 22 to 29 July. If anyone wants to meet up our mobile number is 0623266048. We are second line I10.
ReplyDeleteThe complex is looking really good. Cafe and supermarket will now be open for summer months. Very quiet here as moment as it is Ramadan. I will be here again from 22-29 July and will report back. Jan and Steve I10.

As its been impossible to travel this year, with no end in sight, its been a while since I could visit Sania Plage from the UK. I think Morocco has been until big restrictions due to Covid like most countries.
ReplyDeleteAny news from anyone on Sania Plage would be appreciated
